The path of God’s a battlefield
Of holy and evil abroad;
Of light and dark that clash and wield,
The will and wrath of the true God.
With every step a choice is made
To follow truth or go astray;
In every heart, a battle waged,
To follow the only good way.
The angels sing a hymn of grace,
When the demons send out their lies—
But all who seek the Lord’s strong face
Will have a song, a battlecry.
March on, soldier; the fight's at hand:
And do not fear every stumble;
For God will send His nail-scarred hand
To pick you up from the rubble.
